Look What is blooming in the OLC…


Students from Early Childhood classes planted these beautiful flowers.


Earth Saver Students and their families planted the vegetables and wild flowers.

Keep on the lookout for pumpkins, carrots, tomatoes, beans,

peppers, and radishes to name only a few.

Mrs. Smith and her family were there to help too!

What is an Outdoor Learning Center?

The Outdoor Learning Center vision is simple: children benefit from spending more time outdoors, especially in natural places.  Its goal is equally simple: to increase the quantity, quality and benefit of outdoor experience for children. Here is an overview of the key features of an Outdoor Learning Center.

The vision of an Outdoor Learning Center here at Norton Creek was inspired from the success of a school garden, the Green Team and the Earth Savers Club. Through the organization Come Alive Outside contact was made with SEBERT Landscape, a local company that promotes environmental stewardship through their many green and sustainable practices.  They are committed to partnering with Norton Creek to help make the vision for an Outdoor Learning Space become a reality.
