2019 - 2020 YEARBOOK DELIVERY UPDATE

ncyearbook.shelly@gmail.com

As we have all been impacted by a less-than-traditional end to our school year, our Norton Creek yearbooks will also have a change in their delivery schedule. For K-4 yearbook orders, we will have ordered books available with material pick-up when the new school year begins in August. Fifth graders will have the option of having their yearbooks shipped directly to their homes over the summer. It's not too late to order a yearbook. Click HERE to order.

FIFTH GRADE YEARBOOK COVER CONTEST WINNER

Congratulations to Ella Carlston for designing the winning yearbook cover!

SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR RETIRING TEACHERS AND STAFF

nortoncreekptopresident@gmail.com

We send our best wishes for a happy retirement to Sarah Gilroy, Deb Klos, Deborah Pauling, Jennifer Payne and Madonna Strom! These ladies have given so much to Norton Creek and we wish them the best. If you would like to bring a card, note and/or artwork and leave it in the box on the Carlson porch (2414 Adelia Ln) we will deliver the items to these special ladies throughout the month of May.

Update 05/20/2020

MEMORY MONTAGE DVD:  The link to view the Fifth Grade Video was emailed. A copy of the DVD is included with the 5th Grade Farewell Gifts.

5th Grade Farewell Gifts: These were delivered Wednesday, May 20th unless we worked out another way to get the items to you.

5th Grade Clap Out: We have been working with Mr. White on ways we can celebrate our 5th graders. However, this has been challenging as we are restricted to what the state and district allows us to do. Unfortunately, the district will not allow for a parade to be done at our school as this can cause a traffic jam on Smith Road. Neighborhood parades are fun but we do not all live in the same neighborhood and we definitely do not want others to feel left out. Mr. White and the PTO Board have a special surprise planned for our students this week, keep on the look-out for the special surprise.

5th Grade Picnic Lunch and Class Picture: We are still hoping to have our summer picnic and class picture. When the time is right and safe to do so, and a summer date has been scheduled, we will notify parents in advance so that we can all plan accordingly. Please have your child wear their 5th Grade t-shirt for this event.

Additionally, we will be decorating the front of the school with a banner to honor our 5th graders within the week. Please check out the decorations and take some pictures- have your child wear their 5th Grade t-shirt. When taking photos please follow the social distancing guidelines. If you see a family taking pictures, please stay in your car for a good time to take your photos. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Thank you!

FUTURE ORCHESTRA FAMILY INFORMATION

All students entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade next fall are welcome to participate in Norton Creek's elementary string program! Our goal is to provide a meaningful learning experience in music and develop individual student achievement and appreciation of music. The elementary instrument music program also provides excellent preparation for the middle school and high school orchestras.

There are four string instruments for students to choose from. Click on these links to learn more about each one: violinviolacelloand the string bass.

As we are not currently in school, the introduction to the Orchestra Program will be different this year (all online and not face to face)!
